This hands-on workshop invites participants to explore the intersection of the domestic and the monumental through drawing, collage, and mixed media techniques.

Taking inspiration from exhibiting artist Pru Morrison’s irreverent and humorous ceramic works in Shifting Ground, participants will work with block prints of Pru’s iconic columns as a base. From here, they will layer imagery and drawings of familiar, everyday domestic objects, such as recliners, toilets, even a pet - elevating the mundane to the symbolic through playful visual storytelling.

Pru will guide participants through a process of visual experimentation, discussing her use of satire, historical references, and feminist commentary. This workshop offers a creative space to reflect on personal routines, celebrate the ordinary, and critique tradition through contemporary collage and drawing practices.

Participants to bring: Found images or personal reference material of household/domestic objects (optional).

Suitable for ages 15+
