Poems for the Night is a captivating solo exhibition by Wendy Sharpe AM, one of Australia's most celebrated and awarded contemporary artists.

Curated exclusively for Bundaberg Regional Galleries, the exhibition showcases Wendy's distinctive figurative and narrative paintings, renowned for their confidence, colour, imagination and emotional depth.

Drawing on the evocative power of poetry, Wendy creates images that resist a single interpretation, inviting the viewer to make their own connections, find their own stories, or wonder who or what may be just beyond the edge of what we can see.

A recipient of the Archibald Prize, Sulman Prize, Portia Geach Memorial Award and numerous other accolades, Wendy has exhibited extensively throughout Australia and internationally.

Her distinguished career includes residencies with the Australian Ballet, Opera Australia, Circus Oz and the State Library of New South Wales, as well as international residencies in China, Antarctica, Mexico and Egypt.

In 2024, she presented a major solo exhibition at the Art Gallery of New South Wales, further cementing her reputation as one of Australia's most significant contemporary artists.
