QLD Museum Educational Kits

Bundaberg Regional Galleries has proudly operated as a regional depot for the Queensland Museum since 2008. As part of this partnership, Bundaberg Regional Art Gallery receives a range of Queensland Museum educational kits each year, making high-quality learning resources accessible to our local communities.

About the Kits

The Queensland Museum educational kits are designed to support hands-on learning and are available for free 2-week loans. The kits are housed in sturdy plastic boxes and include a variety of engaging materials, many of which are designed to be handled. Fragile items are safely stored in clear protective cases.

Depending on the topic, kits may include:

  • Specimens and artefacts
  • Original items or casts
  • Posters and photographs
  • CDs and other learning resources

The kits cover a wide range of subject areas, including:

  • Biological Sciences
  • Earth Sciences
  • Physical and Applied Sciences
  • History and Cultural Artefacts

Who Can Borrow?

Queensland Museum kits are loaned free of charge to:

  • Schools and kindy's
  • Community groups
  • Home school families
  • Individuals with an interest in the resource

This program recognises that not everyone can access learning resources in Brisbane, ensuring people in regional areas have the same educational opportunities as their city counterparts.

Loans and Collection

  • Kits are available for a 2-week loan period
  • Borrowers must collect and return the kits from Bundaberg Regional Art Gallery
  • Kits are very popular, so bookings are essential
