Bundaberg Regional Galleries are two vibrant gallery spaces dedicated to providing premier arts and cultural experiences in the Bundaberg region. Bundaberg Regional Galleries fosters the community’s creative capacity by providing art and culture opportunities, and creating a community that participates, engages and grows in the lifelong learning of the arts. Bundaberg Regional Art Gallery (BRAG) and Childers Arts Space (CHARTS) are located in the hearts of Bundaberg and Childers respectively, with easy access for visitors.
Both gallery spaces boast a year-round program of local, touring and national art exhibitions, visiting artists, workshops, artist talks, educational programs, kids activities, guided tours, gift shop facilities, public outreach programs and much more. CHARTS shares the gallery space with the Palace Backpacker Memorial.
The Galleries are open, with three new exhibitions that include a strong representation of regional artists. Bundaberg Regional Art Gallery will feature FOUND! The Studio Dog in BRAG’s Gallery One and The Vault curated by local artist Adrienne Williams and BRIDGES in Gallery Two developed by the Queensland Department of Transport and based on the story of the Burnett Traffic Bridge which celebrates its 120 anniversary this year Childers Art Space will feature a new exhibition ‘Art as an Act of Optimism’ as a retrospective of the #artsbundyathome initiative which has happened during COVID-19 shut-downs.
The Gallery technical team has been working on restoring the Bundaberg Regional Council Art Collection and updating the collection storage to gallery standards. The Bundaberg Art Gallery Shop has also been given a revamp to promote shopping local and supporting artists. The Gallery has also being working on and implementing the best practises to keep everyone COVID-19 safe.
