Library Events

Libraries reopen to the public, with restrictions, and for borrowing and returning only, from Monday 18 May 2020. Following are some guidelines to the services Libraries can and cannot offer. Everything below is subject to regular review and will always comply with Government directives. Library staff are available to answer enquiries via phone, email and Facebook.

Service level
Borrowing and returning only. Reservations available. Limit of 7 reservations per card.

Opening hours
Currently:
Bundaberg
• Monday – Friday: 9.30am to 5.00pm
• Saturday: 9.00am to 1.00pm (from Saturday 23 May 2020)

Childers
• Monday – Friday: 9.00am to 12.30pm and 1.30pm to 5.00pm
• Saturday: 9.00am – 12.00pm (from Saturday 23 May 2020)

Gin Gin
• Monday: closed
• Tuesday – Friday: 9.30am to 12.30pm and 1.30pm 4.00pm
• Saturday: 9.00am – 11.30am (from Saturday 23 May 2020)

Woodgate
• Wednesday: 10.00am – 2.00pm

Number of people permitted in the libraries at one time
Currently:
• Bundaberg: 10 people
• Childers: 5 people
• Gin Gin: 5 people
• Woodgate: 4 people

Entry to the library and restrictions on use
• Entry to libraries will be via a rolling entry – one person out, one person in.
• Please note that there may be a wait before entry to the library is permitted.
• Please limit the time spent in the library to ensure everyone has a fair chance to access the service.

Patrons are to ensure:
• They maintain the required social distance (1.5 metres)
• They wash hands or use hand sanitiser on their entry to and exit from the library
• They do not enter the library if they feel unwell
• They take care not to touch items unnecessarily
• They limit their time spent in the library

Loan limits
Currently:
• Total items: 30
• DVDs: maximum 10
• CDs: maximum 20

Loan periods
Currently 6 weeks for all items.

New reservations
Available. Limit of 7 reservations per card.

Inter Library Loan and purchase requests
Currently unavailable until further notice.

Wifi / Computer / Printing / Photocopying access
Currently unavailable until further notice.

Public programs
All public programs including, but not limited to, storytelling, holiday activities, after school clubs, technology sessions are unavailable until further notice. Note that some programs are being conducted online. Check our Facebook page for details.

Microfilm reader
Currently unavailable until further notice.

Newspapers
Currently unavailable until further notice.

Justice of the Peace service
Currently unavailable until further notice.

Friends of the Library Service
Currently operating. Please contact your FOL volunteer or the Bundaberg Library on 4130 4133.
 

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) - During Closure

1. When will my current loans be due?
All current loans have been extended until Tuesday 30 June 2020. If there is a need to extend beyond this date it will be done automatically. We do not charge overdue fines.

2. Can I return items via the returns chute?
Chutes are currently open. However, there is no need for items to be returned while Libraries are closed and COVID-19 measures are in place.

3. What about my current reservations?
All current reservations will be held until libraries reopen.

4. Can I reserve an item?
No, new reservations are unavailable at this time.

5. Can I place a purchase request or inter library loan request?
No, these requests are unavailable at this time.

6. Are there resources available to me online?
The library's digital resources remain available to library members. These resources include eBooks and eAudiobooks, movie and music services, magazines, and more.

Programs & Events Suspended

All programs and events at all Bundaberg Regional Libraries branches are cancelled until further notice.
These programs include:
